Wildlife fans across Britain are being asked to record their sightings of butterflies. It's the world's largest annual survey of the pollinating insects.
Britain's "Big Butterfly Count" – which runs from July 14 to August 6 – helps conservationists measure the health of the country's natural environment.
Volunteers download a chart helping them to identify different butterfly species. Then they record their sightings in gardens, parks and elsewhere using a smartphone app and other online tools.
The Big Butterfly Count started 13 years ago. Over 64,000 "citizen scientists" took part last year, submitting 96,257 counts of butterflies.
