Hobbies are some of the best ways to spend our free time. They allow us to learn a new skill and practise something we enjoy. They are also a great way for us to take a break.
Students and adults are often stressed and busy with school and work obligations. After a long day, it’s easy for us to go home and scroll on our phones or watch a few episodes of a TV show.
But a hobby can keep our brains and bodies active in a more enjoyable way.
If you spend your energy doing maths problems all day, you could tap into a more creative hobby, such as sketching.
If you are busy writing English assignments, you can release the tension by going outside and playing your favourite sport with some friends. This helps you exercise and spend time socialising.
Inspiration board
Materials
-
magazines or newspapers
-
scissors
-
glue
-
medium-sized poster board
Instruction
-
Look through the magazines and newspapers. Try to find images or words that inspire you or make you happy. Perhaps it is someone playing basketball – your favourite sport. Or maybe it is someone receiving an award.
-
Cut out the images and words that you like and place them in a pile.
-
Once you have enough cut-outs, organise them on your poster board. Once they are organised, glue them all down. You can decorate your board using glitter, ribbons or markers.
-
Now you have your inspiration board! You can hang it in your room for whenever you need a boost of confidence or motivation.
