Cynthia Choi Tsz-ching (aged 11), St Rose of Lima’s School

There are many animals in this world, but I love giant pandas the most – not only are they cute and fluffy, but they are also very smart. When I was in Primary Two, my parents took me to Ocean Park. While we were taking pictures, the panda looked at us, and I thought it was very funny.

Pandas are black and white, but they are endangered animals. In China, there are only about 1,850 giant pandas left in the wild. We should protect them from being killed.

One morning, my mum wanted to close the window. But suddenly, an insect flew in and landed on the table. My mother was scared, so she covered it with a plastic bowl.

When my sister and I saw it, we thought it looked funny, so we gave it a house. Unfortunately, we didn’t know what food it should eat, so we only gave it some water. We liked it very much and named it Stinky. Stinky can do amazing things like climbing while upside down. I enjoy watching it every day, and Stinky is now our new pet.

Rabbits are small mammals. Their behaviours are pretty interesting. For example, when they suddenly start kicking their legs, shaking their heads and jumping, this means they are excited and happy.

Most people mistakenly think rabbits only eat carrots because the animated character, Bugs Bunny, eats carrots. In reality, they mostly eat hay. Therefore, please don’t feed carrots to rabbits often especially because this is unhealthy for them.
