Janice Cheung (Primary 5), Good Hope Primary School cum Kindergarten

After a long summer, school finally started. Meeting my friends again was fun, but I was worried about homework and heavy school bags. The first few days of Year Five were exhausting, but I soon caught up with the fast-paced lessons.

Year Five pupils take care of Year One kids. I enjoyed playing with my little sister and teaching her the school rules. Recently, I led the Year One students outside to be picked up by their parents. When I saw their happy faces after seeing their parents, I couldn’t help but smile.

I enjoy my life at school, and I don’t want it to ever end.

Leo Skyler Vargas Guerrero (aged 13), Buddhist Wong Fung Ling College

My new school has a lot of interesting places: a tuck shop and canteen in the playground, a library, a music room, a laboratory, more classrooms and more subjects.

I had an interview to be a librarian. I was a librarian before, so I had previous experience on the job. The library was bigger than the one in my old school, and the shelves had more books. It looked like a public library! It had a self-service machine and many rocks and gemstones.

The school’s 65th anniversary is soon. It will be an honour to be part of this special event!

Coffee is one of the most popular drinks in the world. After the beans have been picked, roasted and brewed, the grounds are often disposed of as waste.

We recently joined a workshop to make mosquito coils out of coffee grounds.

This workshop provided a unique experience for us to observe the second life of locally recycled coffee grounds. We also took away knowledge about the environment.
