You can generate “artwork” in mere seconds by entering a few words into an artificial intelligence-powered (AI) chatbot. This method may be convenient, but it also raises certain concerns.

We found ourselves pondering important questions. For example, should you be allowed to submit AI-generated art in competitions?

We started a podcast to explore these discussions. We brainstormed ways to make the material engaging. Initially, we felt unconfident in our abilities. But with practice and encouragement, we were able to express ourselves.

Alfie Tang Yu-chih (aged 8), Spanish School of Hong Kong

This summer, my family and I went to Phu Quoc, an island in Vietnam. We stayed in a villa with a pool. It had a breathtaking view of a beach with golden sand, thrashing waves and frayed palm leaves scattered across the shoreline.

My cousins and I caught crabs. A friendly lifeguard helped us collect seashells.

My favourite part was the kids’ club. It had a mini theatre and I dressed up as an octopus. There was also a net climbing frame, a suspended treehouse, computers and games.

The food was succulent. I had plump scallops every day. I had a great time in Phu Quoc.

Let me tell you about myself. I like learning. I love English and I like to read books. I am good at writing. Outside studies, I like gymnastics. I also enjoy eating pasta. I like crafting in art class. I like to make things with cardboard. I love playing with my friends.
