Muslims around the world celebrated Eid al-Fitr last week. This festival marks the end of Ramadan, a holy month during which practising Muslims do not eat or drink from dawn to sunset.
During Ramadan, Muslims are also encouraged to give to others and pray to strengthen their beliefs.
For Eid, people reunite with their families and celebrate by sharing meals and gifts.
With about two billion Muslims worldwide, there are many ways to observe these traditions.
Let’s travel to different places through photos to see how people around the world observe Ramadan.
