A tsunami struck Indonesia's Sunda Strait, killing at least 62 people and injuring hundreds more last night. The tsunami is thought to have been caused by a landslide after Anak Krakatoa, the "child" volcano of Krakatoa, erupted.
The wave slammed into tourist beaches around 9.30pm, with no warning. It swept away the band and stage at a rock concert and sent holidaymakers and locals scrambling for safety. The wave hit a wide swath of beaches northwest and southwest of the capital Jakarta.
The Indonesian Red Cross is scrambling to get tents and fresh water to the area.
Officials say the mostly likely cause of the tsunami was a landslide caused by the eruption of Anak Krakatoa, and made worse by a full moon which caused a tidal wave.
