Hong Kong’s Ocean Park has temporarily closed its Arctic Fox Den after the enclosure’s last two remaining animals, “Siu Go” and “Trinity”, died of old age.
The theme park announced on Saturday that Siu Go and Trinity had both died at the age of 11. It did not specify when the deaths occurred.
“The park’s animal care and veterinary team closely monitored the health of each arctic fox throughout their later years and provided them with meticulous care,” a spokesman said. “However, they ultimately succumbed to age-related and irreversible functional decline. Park staff and visitors who met these animal ambassadors will miss them dearly.”

The spokesman added that the Arctic Fox Den was currently closed to the public.
The den was part of the “Polar Adventure” zone, introduced in the 2010s as the park expanded its cold-climate animal exhibits.
At one point, the park housed a larger family group. In 2014, a female arctic fox named Mochi, one of two such animals confiscated by local authorities, gave birth to six pups. They were the first arctic foxes born in Hong Kong.
The enclosure formed part of a broader effort to showcase polar wildlife alongside penguins, seals and walruses in a chilled habitat designed to simulate Arctic conditions and educate visitors about conservation.
