A coffee shop in Tianjin has slapped a ban on parents who bring their children there to study. The café says the stress of schooling “usually causes emotional turbulence”.

The ban is popular with many people on mainland social media because some parents have lost their tempers during homework sessions.

The café has posted a notice on its door that reads: “No parents bringing children to do homework here please”.

The café owner, who has a four-year-old child, says the ban is only on people who come in to study. The café is still open to families with children who just want to enjoy drinks and food.
