Difficulty: Summiteer (Level 3)
China has launched a national plan to use artificial intelligence (AI) in its schools. This is part of a strategy to prepare its workers as technology becomes more advanced globally.
The plan is called “AI+ Education”. It wants AI to be used in all types of learning, starting from primary school.
Education leaders created this plan because they see strong competition from other countries. Many have launched programmes that invest in AI education and training.
In China, schools must offer classes that help students learn to solve problems and become curious about AI. Universities will offer beginner courses to encourage new ideas across different subjects.
Advanced programmes will focus on how smart technology can transform everyday jobs.
Teacher training will be improved by adding AI skills to the requirements that teachers need to meet to become certified and licensed.
