Difficulty: Summiteer (Level 3)

Elizabeth Kobliha’s one-eyed cat might have more friends than she does. Likho is a Russian Blue cat. He turned 15 last month. On his birthday, the pavement where he spends most of his time was transformed into a makeshift fair.

Likho and Kobliha live in Long Beach in the US state of California. In 2016, Kobliha was swiping through Facebook when a video stopped her scroll. In it, a woman bobbed a feather toy in front of Likho, who jumped up to catch it. The post was made by Sia Barbi and the animal rescue group Stray Cat Alliance. Likho had been abandoned.

Kobliha wanted to adopt him, but the cat needed a US$3,000 (HK$23,526) operation to remove an infected eye. It was paid for by the Stray Cat Alliance. Likho is now the face of Kobliha’s vintage shop, with a mural dedicated to him outside.
