The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum is a museum devoted to bobblehead dolls. It is in the US city of Milwaukee and opened in 2019.
“I think they’re the ultimate Americana, sort of pop-culture icon,” Phil Sklar said. He is the founder of the museum.
The site offers visitors a chance to look at a vast array of figurines as well as learn more about their history. Sklar said there were head-nodding statues in China at least a few hundred years ago. In the 1960s, they became a hit in America when baseball teams gave away sports-themed dolls.
Soon after, companies began making bobbleheads of other celebrities.
Even though people’s interest in bobblehead dolls has risen and fallen over the decades, they have never truly gone away.
