Every four years, a traditional ox race occurs in southern Germany in September.
The contest sees participants riding bareback across a field. The riders are dressed in lederhosen, which are the traditional leather shorts worn by men in this part of Germany.
The event opens with a parade for the oxen, which are decorated with flowers.
