When is a pencil more than just a pencil? When it’s the 20-foot tall (about six metres) LOTI Pencil on John and Amy Higgins’ lawn in the US state of Minnesota, which attracts over 1,000 people for its annual sharpening.
Created by sculptor Curtis Ingvoldstad, the giant pencil is sharpened with a special four-foot wooden sharpener that he and his friend John Daugherty hoist up.
