It was a day of wagging tails and impressive displays of balance at the World Dog Surfing Championships in Pacifica, south of San Francisco, California. The annual contest in the United States draws thousands of spectators every year.
In this edition, around 15 to 20 canine wave riders competed. They were judged on how long they remained on their boards and held their balance, and how well they performed any tricks.
