Cheung Chau’s famous bun festival attracted large crowds to the outlying island in Hong Kong last month. They gathered to celebrate a century-old tradition.
The main event? A “bun-scrambling” competition that takes place around midnight. Participants climb a tower covered in plastic buns and must collect them within a time limit. The person with the most buns wins the “Full Pockets of Lucky Buns” award.
