We are delighted to share that our school’s English x Book Day was a huge success! Our event had English drama, a fun fair, a bargain book fair and a book costume contest. This promoted a love of reading and use of English.

Students dressed up as their favourite book characters, including Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty and Luigi from The Super Mario Bros. They talked about why they liked these characters and promoted their favourite books. Pupils even mimicked the character’s signature moves or catchphrases.

For the drama performance, students joined as the actors, dancers and master of ceremonies. After that, they played English games at the fun fair. At the book fair, visitors snapped up bargains on good reads.

Everyone had a wonderful time, and we hope to encourage students to develop the habit of reading and extend their use of English beyond the classroom.
