Eating plant-based foods can help your body and the planet.
Vegetarian meals can be healthy because these foods are usually low in fat and rich in nutrients. Having less meat can also reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer and other health problems.
Eating less meat can also help the environment. Raising animals for food uses a lot of land, water and energy. Having more vegetarian meals can help fight climate change and protect wild animals’ homes.
You can start with small steps like trying to cook a few vegetarian meals. For certain dishes, you can replace meat and other animal products with fruits, vegetables, grains and beans. There are lots of yummy recipes to try! Remember to eat many different foods to get the nutrients you need.
