Charlotte Lau Wing-ching

Aged 11, St Paul’s Convent School (Primary Section)

Recently, I read a wonderful book, and I want to share my joy of reading this fascinating story.

This book is The Wishing Spell from a series called The Land Of Stories by Chris Colfer. The story starts with an introduction to the main characters of the story, Alex and Conner Bailey, whose dad died on their 12th birthday. One day, their grandmother gives them a treasured fairy-tale book, and they end up falling into a land beyond all imagining: The Land of Stories, where fairy tales are real.

To get back to the real world, Alex and Conner must obtain the items for the Wishing Spell. The recipe includes all kinds of famous items all over the fairy-tale world, such as a glass slipper from Cinderella’s Castle and a piece of bark from Red Riding Hood’s basket.

Their journey made me realise how much we rely on imagination in our daily lives.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I hope you will find this book enjoyable and fascinating too!
