I thoroughly enjoyed reading the Front Desk book series by Kelly Yang. This collection consists of five captivating fiction books and specifically targets children aged 9 to 12.

The central figure in these books is Mia Tang. She is a Chinese-American girl who lives with her parents in a motel and is 10 years old when the series begins. Her parents clean the rooms while Mia watches the front desk. She wants to become a writer, but her mother wants her to study maths.

I like these books because Mia is compassionate, caring, and strong for her friends. For example, she defends her friend Lupe from bullies. She also has a good mindset and always knows what’s right and wrong.

Together, Mia and Lupe, a Mexican girl with a kind heart, triumph over all the adversities they face. They prove that friendship and resilience can help you conquer any challenge.

The Front Desk series is full of heartwarming tales that inspire young readers to stand up against racism and discrimination.

It showcases how to embrace the power of compassion and shows that understanding each other can make life better for all.
