I recommend checking out George’s Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl. This children’s novel is both fascinating and humorous.

This story is about an eight-year-old boy named George, who lives on a farm with his parents and his mean, bossy grandmother. George’s grandmother is selfish and only cares about herself. She orders the other family members around.

One day, when George’s parents are gone, she tells him not to grow up, saying that grown-ups are lazy, stupid, and greedy. She also scares him by saying she likes to eat insects and other creatures.

When it is time for George to give her some medicine, he decides to teach his grandma a lesson. He mixes up every medicine at home, including animal medicine, into a magical mixture. What will happen to his grandmother? Will she be OK?

I loved this book because it is educational and funny. I admire George’s creativity and courage when facing difficulties. The book tells us to be friendly. Otherwise, we could end up in a situation similar to George’s cranky grandmother.
