My favourite movie is Les Misérables. It started as a musical but was turned into an exhilarating film. Both the film and the musical have won many awards. The movie was released in 2012, 32 years after the first stage performance in 1980.

Les Misérables is set in early 19th-century France, where Jean Valjean, a French peasant, and a slew of young idealists attempt to overturn the French government at a street barricade in Paris.

I like this film because the music arrangement is flawless, and I can also feel the effort put into Les Misérables’ actors and voices. I was also touched by the brave idealists.

I watched both the film and the musical. I preferred the musical because of the impressive stage work, but the movie was brilliant, too. People around the world love and appreciate both versions.

It’s very impressive how the original musical is still treasured after so many years.

I recommend the movie and musical to everyone. I hope the story will continue to be told for years to come. It’s exciting and sad at the same time.
