One stormy night, a girl named Amy and her pet penguin, Pengu, gazed out the window, wondering, “When will the storm end?”

The next morning, Amy woke up and headed to school. There, she heard a rumour that if you stayed at school until midnight, you would vanish.

A group of students, including Amy, was intrigued and decided to stay until midnight. When the clock struck 12, they split into three groups and played rock-paper-scissors to determine the order in which to go inside. The first group entered the school, promising to return in 30 minutes, but they never came back.

The remaining two groups hesitated, and Amy’s group, feeling scared, decided to leave. The last group went in and discovered the lifeless bodies of the others. Who could have killed them?

As Amy walked home, she spotted Pengu. But to her shock, Pengu vanished into ashes. Meanwhile, Pengu, who had been abandoned, recalled her mother’s last words before leaving: “I’m sorry, Pengu. Mommy’s going to come back after some time.”

She sobbed as her mother disappeared. Six years had passed since then, and Pengu was still wondering about her mother’s fate.

One day, she saved up some money from posting videos on Meetube, an entertainment app, using her very old Vpad, an electronic device.

Eager to venture outside, Pengu entered a shop. She suddenly closed her eyes and felt light and empty. Then she saw her mother and thought, “Mum actually came back!” But as she realised her mother was fading away, she heard her say, “Stay safe, my baby girl! I’m sorry, but I couldn’t make it in time …” Pengu woke up to a bright white background, hastily noticing she was in a hospital bed.

As Pengu’s vision turned white, she and Amy finally woke up. “Was that all a dream?” Pengu wondered. “I think it was more of a nightmare,” Amy replied.
