The United States abolished slavery in 1865, but descendants of enslaved Africans continued to face major discrimination. Segregation laws kept African-Americans from sharing public spaces with white Americans. African-American children could not go to the same school as white children.
African-Americans fought back, which led to a major civil rights movement in the 1950s and 1960s. Today, many Black people have led protests worldwide, demanding the rights that they deserve and racial equality.

My school’s well-being day was super fun!
First, we went to a creative dance lesson. The dancers were amazing! They twirled elegantly and rolled on the hard floor like cute pandas. The leader guided them by using nods and hand movements, letting the dancers use their imagination to create their own movements.
Then, we splattered coloured ink on a piece of paper. The ink melted into the paper and flowed smoothly after we added a little alcohol. Then we pushed the ink using a pump. At last, we saw beautiful pieces of art that we had made all by ourselves.

My favourite subject is definitely music. I learn different types of vocal techniques from Ms Swett to improve and become a better singer.
Art is my top hobby. I like it because I can improve my drawing skills. I like making art that is realistic but not too realistic. I also sometimes make mandalas.
Another hobby of mine is crochet. I am making a handbag for my grandmother. It might take some time, but the result will be worth it. It is also enjoyable and a kind of art.
