Thyler Ng (aged 11), Spanish School of Hong Kong

My uncle is a firefighter, and he worked for over 12 hours in the rescue efforts at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po. This was an extremely dangerous and challenging task, and I thank all the firefighters and paramedics for their tireless efforts in this disaster. I also hope that everyone will raise their awareness of fire prevention to avoid fires.

Nathaniel Eli Cheng (aged 7), St Paul’s Co-educational College Primary School

My favourite animal is the Komodo dragon, which can be found on the islands of Komodo in Indonesia. When I was four, my parents and I travelled there to visit Komodo National Park. These enormous lizards can smell you from 4km away. I was very excited to see them, but after a long day trip there, I fell asleep.

I love the Christmas festival; it is my favourite time of the year.

According to tradition, when children sleep, an adult called Santa comes from the North Pole to deliver presents. Children also hang socks for Santa to fill with treats. To decorate their homes for the holiday, people put up trees in their living rooms and decorate them with ribbons, bows, shiny balls and a star.

We get to spend time with family and friends. I go to Disneyland with my younger sister to celebrate Christmas. I want Santa to bless all the families in the world.
