I like the book The Forgotten Puppy. It follows Emi, who had always wanted a dog. After Mum finds out, she takes Emi and her big brother Ben to Kaii’s house. Kaii is a dog owner with about seven dogs. Kaii introduced the dogs.
Emi thought they were all wonderful. She decided she wanted the one with golden fur and brought it home. At school, Emi’s friend Jess heard about the dog and asked Emi what its name was. Emi said that its name was Rina, which means “jasmine” in Japanese.
After school, Emi went home to put down her things and rushed to the new pet shop, Shimmer Pet Shop. There, she bought some doggy treats, packs of dog food and a leash.
Emi’s dad did not live with her; he lived by himself in a small house. Emi hadn’t seen him in a while, and she missed him very much. She and Ben often video-called him on Mum’s phone. One snowy day, Mum dropped Emi and Ben at the train station so that they could visit their dad.
A few days later, Rina noticed that Emi still hadn’t come back. One day, when Mum took her for a walk, Rina ran to the train station, but she still couldn’t find Emi!
All of a sudden, she spotted Emi and ran towards her. Emi hugged her tightly. After a few weeks, they all packed their things to go on holiday. And Rina had more luggage than Emi and Ben!
