Taylor Swift fans are flocking to a German museum to see a portrait of Ophelia, a character from William Shakespeare’s play, Hamlet.
The character was mentioned in a song and a music video from Swift’s new album, The Life of a Showgirl.
At the start of the video for “The Fate of Ophelia”, Swift takes on the character and becomes a living painting.
Museum Wiesbaden said it was not clear which painting served as inspiration.
But the video looks very similar to Ophelia, an oil painting by German artist Friedrich Heyser.
Last month, the museum saw hundreds of “Swifties” – the name for Swift fans – wanting to see that painting. The museum invited fans to attend a special tour, and the news went viral online.
