Lam Hin-wang, 13, Carmel Alison Lam Foundation Secondary School: One of my hopes for the Year of the Horse is to have a horse that I can ride, because it would be fun. When I have ridden a horse in the past, it went extremely fast. I felt over the moon.
Macy Ting Ka-yi, 14, Lung Kong WFSL Lau Wong Fat Secondary School: For the past year, my parents have not been feeling well and have been busy taking care of me. I hope that in the Year of the Horse, my family are healthy and strong like the horse.
Zoe Lam, 16, Leung Shek Chee College: My hope for this year is to learn to love myself. I care more about my friends and family than I do about myself. So, I want to be a little kinder to myself this year and not be so stingy with my care.
Kevin So Tsun-hei, 16, GCC & ITKD Lau Pak Lok Secondary School: I really hope to become a professional barista within the next year. Making coffee is my favourite hobby, especially creating latte art patterns. I want to earn a professional certificate this year so I can officially get a job in a cafe.
Hong Nga-guo, 14, STFA Tam Pak Yu College: I’m looking forward to the comeback of BTS in the Year of the Horse and getting tickets to one of the concerts on their new world tour. They are very popular, which makes their tickets rare. Furthermore, I hope I am happier than last year. Being healthy and happy is my biggest goal.
Havoc Chan Pak-kiu, 16, Ma On Shan Tsung Tsin Secondary School: Peace is my hope for the new year. It’s been horrible to see how war and government instability have created global issues like an increase in refugees and devastating losses to human life. I hope that, in the new year, countries around the globe will be rational enough to end any ongoing wars.
Abbas Muhammad, 15, HKTA The Yuen Yuen Institute No 1 Secondary School: To improve my culinary skills and cook for my family. This will ease my parents’ responsibilities and support my mother in caring for my siblings. Plus, being a good cook will help me connect with others. A man who can cook is certainly appealing!
Hannah Tsui Ying-nga, 12, Pope Paul VI College: I heard a lot of people saying this year is the moon lover’s year since there will be a different kind of moon every single month. For example, a blood moon, an ice moon and lots of other different moons. I’m excited to see them and hope it’ll be very cool and amazing.
Arresha Rubab Latef, 15, Tung Chung Catholic School: I hope to grow academically and deepen my understanding of my religion. I want to make new friends, be kind and share my culture. I’ll work hard to follow my dreams of becoming a real estate broker and be a good person inside and out.
Kwok Chung-yin, 16, Po Leung Kuk Tang Yuk Tien College: I wish to appear in Young Post once, as I’ve been attempting for the past few months and have not succeeded.
