Hear from this season’s Write to Win champion: Anunay Nawalkha, 14, Po Leung Kuk Ngan Po Ling College

I was amazed when my father broke the news that I had won Young Post’s Write to Win contest. Over the past nine weeks, I was submitting articles for each round of the competition, and I still cannot fully express the joy of seeing my hard work pay off.
For the past two years, I have been a regular reader of the Young Post, which is both informative and engaging. Participating in the Write to Win contest was an enriching and memorable experience for me.
From the very beginning, I felt a mix of excitement and nervous anticipation knowing that I would be putting my writing skills and creativity to the test alongside many talented participants.
Each round presented a unique topic, and preparing for them required brainstorming ideas, organising my thoughts and dedicating time to craft the best possible piece. This process helped me improve my writing skills and gain the confidence to express myself.
One of the most memorable aspects of the contest was the challenge of writing under a deadline. This was a new experience for me, pushing me to stay focused and disciplined. Despite the pressure, it tested my ability to think quickly and present my ideas within a limited time frame.
The experience also taught me the importance of planning and revising my work to make it more impactful.
