Calling all student readers and aspiring journalists! Young Post is thrilled to open applications for our 2026 summer internship programme – with limited spots available.
In this programme, you will be a student writer for Young Post, Spark and Posties. You will work in the exciting newsroom alongside our reporters and editors. The internship is a unique chance to hone your creative and technical skills. You will get to pitch story ideas, interview interesting people, attend local events, write articles and get published.
What we’re looking for:

Reliable, dedicated and mature secondary school students in Hong Kong, who will be going into Form Five (equivalent to Year 12 and Grade 11) or above in the coming school year (2026-27)

Strong writing skills and an interest in journalism are a plus

Unique talents or experiences that make you stand out

Previous contributions to Young Post (letters to the editor, Face Off, Top 10, etc.) are a bonus – please share details of your involvement to boost your chances, as this programme is highly competitive
Programme details
Location: South China Morning Post office, Times Square, Causeway Bay
Duration: Each cohort lasts three weeks (full attendance required)
Cohort 1: June 29 – July 17, 2026
Cohort 2: August 10 – August 28, 2026
Work schedule: Interns work five days a week, eight hours per day, with possible overtime depending on project needs.
Note: This is an unpaid internship, and no prior internship experience is needed.
