The first constellations were defined before you could imagine. Ancient civilisations used groups of visible stars to tell stories about their beliefs, experiences, creation and myths. Stars seemed to form in a pattern or outline, usually an animal or inanimate object, but they would have changed significantly over time. Different cultures and countries even invented their own constellations, but today, we have internationally recognised formations. Let’s learn what they are, and where and when to spot them:
