It is frustrating when you are not doing as well as your classmates. Some people care a lot about grades, and this can put pressure on you to excel.
It is OK to feel disappointed when you do not do well. Comparing yourself to others can encourage you to do better, but it can also make you feel bad about yourself. Remind yourself of your positive qualities – and if you struggle to think of these, it can help to ask a loved one.
Sometimes, you need to focus on your own goals and hobbies instead. How do you want to improve? What steps can you take towards that? You could even ask a classmate to study with you. Don’t forget to balance your academics with hobbies that give you time to relax.
If you still find yourself feeling discouraged by your progress, talk to a parent or teacher. They can find ways to help you feel better and work on your goals.
