If you often feel exhausted even when you get enough rest, this could be a health issue. You should see a doctor, and tell them about how you are feeling.

Some reasons behind your tiredness could be your activities and foods.

How much exercise are you doing? Too much or too little exercise can make you tired. You don’t need to run 1km every day. But a short walk could help you feel better if you aren’t exercising often.

Healthy foods also give you a boost of energy. Make sure that you have a balanced diet with enough grains, fruit, vegetables and protein. Fruits like bananas and apples can give you energy. Avoid eating too many packaged snacks or sweet drinks. Also, make sure to drink enough water.

You could also be exhausted from stress. If you have too many activities and assignments, it could cause you to feel stressed. You might be surprised to know that this takes up a lot of brain power. Talk to your parents about your schedule. They can help you make time to take breaks and rest.

This response has been vetted by Lolita Schmalenberg, a psychotherapist at Lifespan Counselling.
