Difficulty: Explorer (Level 1)
Imagine living alongside dinosaurs. What do you picture?
Is it a peaceful world where we live in harmony with these giant creatures? If so, there may be giant pools or large plains for dinosaurs to wander around in.
Or, is it a world full of human-dinosaur conflict? If that’s the case, there may be some ruined buildings and damaged roads caused by these destructive beasts. Get creative, grab your art supplies and show what life would be like with dinosaurs!
Dinosaur terrarium

Materials
-
a clear jar or glass (try reusing a clean food jar)
-
clay
-
some small rocks
-
sand
-
green paper
Instructions
1. Using the clay, shape some tiny dinosaurs that will easily fit into the jar or glass container. Set them aside to dry while you put together the terrarium.
2. Pour sand into the container. This could be an old snack jar, a glass, or even a fishbowl.
3. Next, it’s time to decorate the landscape with rocks. Cover the surface with a layer of small pebbles or use larger, jagged rocks to represent mountains.
4. Brighten the terrain by adding some greenery. You can scrunch up green pieces of paper or even fold some origami plants if you’re feeling daring!
5. Place the mini dinosaurs into the terrarium to finish off the piece. If you want more decorations, add some branches or seashells. Now, your dinosaur terrarium is ready for display!
Lost world map

Materials
-
pencil
-
paper
-
coloured pencils, crayons, or watercolours
Instructions
1. Decide which part of your city you want to draw. Will you focus on your neighbourhood, the city centre, or an entire district? This will decide the size of your map.
2. Sketch two or three important buildings in this area. Use a map online for reference or draw entirely from your memory.
3. Now, here is the fun part. Add some new features that would be there if we lived with dinosaurs. Do you imagine new places for us to share or just endless destruction?
4. Lastly, colour in your map! For an optimistic look, you could use bright colours. Or use dim watercolours to show the destruction in your imaginary world. Let your creativity run wild!
