Keilly Fan Chin-wai, Aged 7, St Rose of Lima’s School

My home is my favourite place in the world. There is a great park nearby, and sometimes, when I pass it, I ask my mother if we can play.

I am in Primary Two at a girl’s school. I have so much fun there because every day I see my best friend, Hailey, who is in the same class as me. I like swimming, drawing pictures and playing with my stuffed toys.

I got five lovely stuffed toys in 2023: a sweet potato, a pink mermaid, a colourful flamingo and a happy cinnamon roll, but my favourite is a fuzzy puppy Santa gave me for Christmas. In 2024, I hope to get more soft toys and make new friends.

Enya Wong Hei-wai (aged 12), Dr Catherine F. Woo Memorial School

My favourite movie is Wonka, based on Roald Dahl’s book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The film is full of dreams, unlikely friendships and weird chocolate. It also has an important message: chase your dreams!

When Wonka is just one step away from having the chocolate shop he has dreamed of since he was a kid, someone tries to stop him from succeeding. However, he overcomes his problems and proves there will always be an opportunity for you if you can face your difficulties!

Noah Thomas Lipinski (aged 13), Concordia Lutheran School – North Point

Some pet owners in China are getting surgery for their pets to give them round “Mickey” ears. This type of surgery could be very harmful to their animals.

Mickey Mouse has round ears since he is a mouse. This surgery could be life-threatening. It shouldn’t be legal because it could be very painful for the pet.
