Gabriella Yedra Abarico Espinosa (aged 12), Sir Ellis Kadoorie Primary School

The Rugby English Active Learning Programme has not only taught me the rules and technical terms of playing rugby, but also the importance of perseverance, sportsmanship and teamwork.

Besides fostering positive values, we can also learn English. In rugby, the players are often from different countries, so English is a common language they can use to communicate with each other.

Rugby is fun, and I look forward to having another chance to play it!

Cartoons are an important part of childhood. My personal favourites are Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom, Peppa Pig, and House of Mouse.

Did you know that some asteroids were named after cartoon characters? For example Bambi, Thumper and Donald Duck. Also, cartoons are older than you may have realised: the oldest cartoon in history is Fantasmagorie, which was made in 1908.

Animation is good because it can instil empathy, kindness, and a sense of justice in young minds.

Charlotte Lau Wing-ching (Aged 11), St Paul’s Convent School (Primary Section)

The government plans to launch a waste-charging scheme to reduce rubbish. However, the scheme would negatively affect low-income families and increase their financial burden, perhaps even driving them to dispose of rubbish inappropriately.

In addition, this scheme can be tough to monitor. There might be increased illegal dumping and other activities that harm the environment.

Instead of implementing this scheme, the government should focus on education and public awareness campaigns to reduce waste.
