I recommend the first book of the Wings of Fire series, The Dragonet Prophecy by Tui T. Sutherland. It follows five young dragons as they work to stop a war started by three princesses who want to take their kingdom’s throne.
The world is inhabited by seven tribes, most of which are part of the war between the princesses for the Sandwing throne.
The first book is from the perspective of Clay. He isn’t sure he wants the big heroic destiny that says he is supposed to end the war. Clay is told he is a monster, but he doesn’t know how to unleash his power.
This book introduces the world of Pyrrhia and the dragonets who are trying to save it. But none of them truly know their places inside of it.
