I recommend that you read the Magic Tree House series. The stories are about two kids, Jack and Annie, who live in Frog Creek in the US state of Pennsylvania.
In the Frog Creek woods, which are not far from their home, there is a magic tree house that appears only when it is sent. The owner of the tree house, Morgan le Fay, lives in a mythical world called Camelot, where magic is real.
Annie first notices the tree house when it is sent to Frog Creek, and she helps Jack see it too. When they go in the tree house and point to a place or a picture, they go to that place.
In the Magic Tree House series, Morgan le Fay sends Jack and Annie to different places such as ancient Greece, China, Pompeii and ancient Egypt. They have to complete missions for Morgan.
I also recommend reading the books about Merlin sending them on missions. Merlin is one of Camelot’s greatest magicians, and when he hears about what Jack and Annie have done, he starts to use Jack and Annie’s help as well.
