I am currently reading a book titled May the Best Player Win, and I find it both inspiring and encouraging.
It is a creative story that meets my tastes and features an engaging plot.
The book follows a girl named May, who has a passion for chess. She deeply values her friendships with Becca and Ralph.
May gains attention from a well-known chess interviewing company, and during an interview, she is awarded a trophy.
This moment leads Ralph to feel jealous of the attention May is receiving.
One day in chess club, Ralph and May get into a non-physical argument.
Ralph uses May’s love for Chessmen cookies against her during their dispute, asking, “Then why is it Chessmen and not Chess-Woman?” He expresses his belief that men are superior to women in chess.
I highly recommend this book because it beautifully illustrates the idea of not judging a book by its cover. It’s a wonderful read.
