I like the book The Secret Garden. It has many wonderful elements.

The book is about a girl named Mary. She was born in India but moved to England to live with her uncle after her parents died. She was very spoiled in India.

A woman called Mrs Medlock took her to her new home in a carriage. When they arrived, Mrs Medlock shoved Mary into her room and closed the door.

The next morning, Mrs Medlock gave Mary porridge for breakfast, but she didn’t want to eat it.

At night, Mary heard the wind howling outside but soon realised it wasn’t just the wind – there was also crying. Curious, Mary grabbed a lamp and walked into the corridor.

Just then, she realised where the crying was coming from. Mary slowly opened the door and saw a thin and weak boy with pale skin lying on a bed. The boy said his name was Colin and told Mary he was dying.

The following day, Mary bounced out of bed. She had heard about a secret garden on the grounds, and she wanted to find it.

She poked around until she found a hidden door. It was the garden! Mary and another boy named Dickon told Colin about the garden and took him there to help him recover. Eventually, his health improved, and they could all play together.

I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did!
