In Finland, they teach people to think like an inventor, helping students develop innovative skills and improve their creativity. But how exactly do they do that?
I think it’s because they don’t always stay in the classroom to learn. I’d like to introduce you to the Heureka Science Centre, one of the country’s most famous educational destinations.
Now you may be thinking, “It’s just a science centre, right?” Yes, but it’s also a whole new dimension for creativity! People can take part in hands-on experiments and explore science.
I have actually visited the science centre. There are dozens of exhibitions to see, from learning about the Ice Age to freshwater reserves. There’s even one where you can experience riding a bicycle in mid-air! These exhibitions let you learn about the concepts of history, gravity and more.

Now, some people may believe this is irrelevant to innovation. But the centre teaches us about many issues that need to be resolved, such as how climate change and human activity can cause great harm to nature.
We can also learn how human activity affects water availability and the water cycle.
By highlighting these major problems, Heureka inspires visitors to find solutions, helping us innovate and reach new levels of creative thinking.
If you find yourself in class wondering, “Can this stop extreme weather from happening?” or “What can we actually do to help innovate mankind?” then the Heureka Science Centre might be your best teacher.
