China has proposed a new idea for cities to include programmes for young people. These programmes would focus on areas such as city planning, housing, healthcare, education and public services.
This is part of a bigger plan to make city life better for young people, kids and families.
The measures will focus on jobs, housing, healthcare, family support and urban services.
The plan comes after the Chinese government said in March that it would concentrate on building a “childbirth-friendly society” from 2026 to 2030.
The government is trying to stop the population from falling after data showed that births reached a record low in 2025.
Measures include improving how people connect with one another and providing better social services. Authorities also plan to increase financial help for childcare and create more rooms for mothers and babies in public areas.
