After 144 years, the Sagrada Familia basilica is finally done. The church is in Barcelona, Spain. Designed by Antoni Gaudi, it is known for its amazing design.
Josep Turull is the rector of the basilica. He pointed to its endless wonders.
“We say that one of the elements of the Sagrada Familia Basilica is that you never exhaust it,” Turull said. “I have spent the last eight years as its rector, and each day I discover something new.”
The faces of the building have many Christian scenes and symbols. The church’s towers have cornucopias. The towers also have nesting falcons. They have been breeding at the basilica for over 20 years. Beneath the structure is Gaudi’s crypt. A huge seashell is a holy water basin. This shows how Gaudi was inspired by nature.
The Sagrada Familia’s special details amaze worshippers and tourists alike.
