Young Post’s Best of the Quarter awards celebrate Hong Kong students’ hard work and thoughtfulness.
We are pleased to announce our latest winners and sincerely thank all of you, our readers, for your thoughtful and well-researched submissions. Here are some of our favourite entries from this past winter quarter.
Best Letters
Claudia Loh from Po Leung Kuk Choi Kai Yau School wrote an impactful, heartfelt letter offering her condolences for the Wang Fuk Court fire that took 161 lives. In her submission, she questioned malpractice in the construction industry – specifically the substandard netting and styrofoam boards permitted under the notorious bid-rigging process.
Best Face Off
Leah Lei Lok-ching from Cognitio College (Kowloon) wrote a passionate and eloquent argument about why pupils should not be required to vote in student government elections. Her many contributions to the Face Off page have consistently shown her strong research skills and persuasive writing talent.
Most Creative
Lai Yan-ying from Po Leung Kuk Mrs Ma Kam Ming-Cheung Fook Sien College wrote us a warm reply for Top 10! When asked what she would want an endless supply of, Yan-ying gave a heartwarming answer: the warm glass of milk her mother prepares for her every morning. She beautifully explained that an endless supply of this milk means her mother’s precious love and companionship will never run out.
