Despite being a city of high-rises – and the city in the world with the most completed skyscrapers (a building taller than 150m or 492ft) – Hong Kong is not actually quite high up in terms of elevation. What does that mean? Well, other cities in the world start up above sea level, built on terrain that have a considerable difference in height from where the ocean is. There are cities that are technically sitting at a higher elevation than some major mountains. Let’s take a look:
