Schools closed and electricity failed in parts of Central and Eastern Europe last week as a cold snap moved in from Scandinavia.

Hungary’s national weather service warned of wind gusts of up to 90 km/h (56 mph) in the northeast and temperatures slipping to minus 12C in some areas. Strong winds even blew off roofs and downed power lines in some parts of the country.

Send us a funny caption by filling out the form below or emailing [email protected] with your full name, age and school name.

The deadline is at 12pm on January 24. We’ll publish the best ones next week.
