There is no doubt that friends are important! They listen to us when we are angry and cheer us up when we’re sad. We can also create fun memories that last forever. But it’s not easy to build friendships when everyone is so busy. Here are some tips that we hope can help:

Stay connected

Have video calls with your friends who live far away and meet up with friends who live nearby. It can help to have a regular activity you do together. You could walk to school together or play sports.

Be honest

Be open and talk to your friends about your feelings. Also, be a good listener when a friend talks about their problems. This shows you care about the friendship. If you argue, don’t be afraid to talk things out and apologise.

Small gestures matter

Send your friends messages or funny photos to make them smile. You can also ask them about a test they are worried about. Let them know you care and cheer them on. Even these small gestures can make a big difference.

Talk it out

Is there anyone in your class that might need a friend? How can you reach out to them?

What are your favourite ways to show your friends you care about them? How often do you do these things?
