Difficulty: Explorer (Level 1)
It’s OK to feel jealous in friendships. In fact, everyone feels jealous sometimes. Jealousy is a fear that arises when we believe someone else has something that we want.
We all want to feel special to our friends. Sometimes, we are scared of being replaced by others. Here is some advice we hope can help:
Increase your self-confidence
Remind yourself what makes you a good person to be friends with. You could even make a list of things you like about yourself. Do things you are good at to feel more confident.
Build your friendship
Talk to your friend about your feelings. Be honest and open with them, but do not blame them or make them feel guilty. It is normal and healthy for people to have more than one friend. But talking about your feelings together can also help improve your friendship.
Do fun things together
Explore new activities or learn new skills together. You can also meet their other friends and get to know them. Put in the effort to get to know your friend’s other friends and learn new things. This shows that you care about them and want to be a good pal.
