Difficulty: Explorer (Level 1)
You need to talk to your classmate. Tell them how you feel about them looking at your answers. It’s not fair to you, and it’s stressful. If a teacher catches them, they might think you cheated, too.
This could mean getting a bad grade. You could even be kicked out of a test. Explain the trouble it could cause. Hopefully, your classmate will understand why you don’t want them to copy off you.
You can say, “I can’t let you copy from me. We should both study hard for the exam.” Be clear and calm when you talk to them.
You can also offer to study together or suggest they get extra help from the teacher or a tutor. This way, you are still helping them, but in a fair and honest way.
If your friend keeps looking at your answers even after you have tried these tips, tell your teacher or parents.
