Your body is like a wonderful machine that works hard for you every single second. It lets you run, jump, laugh and learn.

But just like a phone needs to be charged, your body needs certain things to stay strong and happy. Being healthy is not just about your body – it is also about your mind and your heart.

So what does your body need? First, it needs good fuel. That means eating colourful fruits and vegetables, drinking plenty of water and getting energy from rice, bread or noodles.

Your body also needs movement. Running, skipping, swimming or even dancing in your room helps your muscles grow and your heart stay strong. Your body needs rest, too. When you sleep, your body repairs itself and prepares for a new day.

Being healthy is also about your mind. Your mind needs quiet moments, playtime and chances to learn new things. When you feel worried or angry, your mind gets tired. That is why taking deep breaths or talking to someone you trust is so important.

Your heart needs care as well. Kindness, feeling loved and loving others keep your heart healthy. Giving a hug or helping a friend fills your heart with warmth.

The most important skill you can learn is to listen to your body. Your body sends you signals all the time. A growling stomach means “feed me.” Tired eyes mean “rest me.” A racing heart or tight shoulders might mean “I am stressed.”

When you pay attention, you can take action before small problems become big ones. If you feel thirsty, drink water. If you feel tired, take a break. If you feel lonely, reach out to someone.

Taking care of your body, mind and heart is not hard. It just takes practice. Eat well, move, sleep and be kind. And most of all, listen. Your body is always talking to you. Are you listening?
